This table is made of only Akita cedar, a purely domestic high-grade wood, and is made using the "kumiko" technique used in high-grade fittings such as shoin (drawing rooms).
The basic structure uses a square lattice, with "sesame (winter)" and "cherry (spring)" on the lower left and "dragonfly (summer)" and "hemp leaf (autumn)" on the upper right to represent the four seasons in Japan.
The frame has a sane (a convex projection made on the side of the boards when they are joined together) and is crafted in the manner of authentic fittings.
The entire surface is coated with waterproof silicone to prevent stains from alcoholic beverages and seasonings, and neoprene rubber is applied to the back of the legs to provide excellent heat and oil resistance.
